It's a selection of what a shop hasn't sold that day, packed at the end of trading and sold at a large discount. You don't choose the contents. That's what makes it possible for the business to offer it. The value is normally two to three times what you pay.

Yes. Partners can only list food that is safe and fit to sell, and the same rules apply to a Surprise Bag as to anything else on their shelves, including labelling, allergen information and use-by dates. If something is wrong with your bag, report it in the app and we'll deal with it.

Each listing shows the category, the shop, the pickup window, the number left and the original value. The exact contents are a surprise, but the type of food is not.

You collect during the pickup window shown on the listing, usually the last hour or two before closing. Pick the window that suits you before you reserve.

Try to cancel as early as the listing allows so the bag can go to someone else. Once the window closes, an uncollected bag can't be refunded. The business has already set it aside for you. In selected areas you can switch to courier delivery instead.

Just your phone for the pickup code. Bring a bag of your own where you can. It keeps the rescue genuinely low-waste.

If the partner cancels, or your bag isn't available when you arrive, you're refunded in full. If you simply don't turn up within the window, the sale stands. Anything else, contact support and we'll look at it.
